Graduate Opportunities

Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery), Certificate IV in Hospitality (Supervision), Diploma of Hospitality Management, Advanced Diploma of Hospitality

The Hospitality, Tourism and Wine industries will continue to grow in the future. ELTHAM graduates will have the academic training and employment experiences to move into these exciting industries as:

• an owner/manager of a restaurant/cafe/hotel/vineyard
• a quality provider of food, wine, bar, coffee services
• a head chef or sous chef

They will also have the essential business skills to move into a wide variety of roles in the broader business sector. Graduates will be able to move into university study at an advanced level by receiving credit for their ELTHAM qualifications.


VET/VCE Hospitality (Operations)

For some students, completion of VET/VCE Hospitality (Operations) may provide tertiary and employment pathways to hospitality fields. Many others will benefit from the skills, knowledge and work experience to readily find part-time or casual work for financial independence while undertaking further tertiary studies in their chosen field. All students benefit from gaining a critical understanding of the relationship between learning and work. They have the opportunity to develop important workplace skills complementary to tertiary studies. Students completing this course will have the necessary skills to seek employment in restaurants, hotels, cafés and vineyards as quality providers of food, wine, bar and coffee services.

Certificate III in Hospitality (Operations) Completion Course

Satisfactory undertaking of the Completion Course will provide students with full Certificate III in Hospitality (Operations) accreditation, increased employment opportunities and greater ease of transfer to other tertiary courses. The condensed course duration during the holiday period minimises disruption to enrolment in further studies.
