Reunions
Reunions are one of the most effective and popular ways for ExECS to stay connected. The ExECS reunion program hosts reunions every 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years! Each reunion is organized by The ExECS Committee and often a small group of your peers. Planning begins about 4 months before the event, so if your 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 year Reunion is coming up, feel free to Contact Us and lend a hand.

Past Reunions:
Class of 1984 - 25 Year Reunion
March 14, 2009
Such a fabulous rainy reunion night with good food and wine and surrounding views. Time went too quickly. I felt the richness in the fabric of my earlier years woven with faces, stories and memories of times past. To see those faces again felt like appreciating special treasures from the past and part the person I am today. With fewer numbers this time, I found more opportunity to reconnect and rekindle friendships, reflect, make peace with the past and give thanks to those who made a difference. As I am reminded of the richness of the past, I am also reminded of the richness of the present and to appreciate and love the people in my life right now, for all too soon they may become part of that fabric of memory.
The night ended reluctantly for many of us, as there was so much more to say and wine to drink. There were conversations about children and family, marriages, deaths, careers and money, past teachers, who still lived in the area, those of you that didn't come and where you were, the bushfires and how close some of us were to them, old friendships and rumours, the people we were then and are now. There were some pretty interesting updates in people's lives too, and so those of you who didn't come will have to come next time (in 5 years time) to find out what they were. I hope you will.

Class of 2008 - Reunion BBQ
February 5, 2009
On the 5th February, the ExECS Association hosted a reunion for the class of 2008 outside the senior school building in the sail yard. The atmosphere of this event was sombre, with many, no doubt, in a state of disbelief; thinking that we were on an extended holiday and that graduation was someone’s idea of a joke. The reunion started with the students of the class of 2008 chatting and catching up on time past, while eating and drinking the food provided by ExECS. After an hour of catching up we relocated to the Library auditorium to watch the 2008 Year 12 DVD which was made by a group of students to celebrate our years shared at ELTHAM College. The DVD inspires the idea of a community; select students from the 2008 class put together a DVD for the entire year level to enjoy. This idea of a community is what students will remember most from their time at ELTHAM College, and I know that we will all be looking forward to the next class of 2008 reunion.

Class of 1988 – 20 Year Reunion
October 11, 2008
A great night was had by all at the latest 20 year reunion. In a relaxed atmosphere with great food, people got on like Year 12 was only a short time ago, as loudly and enthusiastically as ever. So loudly in fact, that the music could not be heard no matter how much it was turned up! There were many shared stories and experiences, (Rebecca Stamm has 8 kids!), smiles and laughter. There were a number of ex staff present too, which was great to see. Apparently when Swipers closed, Mark Rayson kindly offered his house for the after party which 30 or so people cruised on to with many not leaving until the early hours of the morning (after 2.30pm) Unfortunately, due to a “Seniors” moment by Keckers Snr, photo evidence of the evening has disappeared. So you’ll have to wait until the next one! If this night was any indication, the next five years will go by in a flash!
Class of 1993 – 15 Year Reunion
August 30, 2008
Around 40 students from the class of 1993 gathered at Swipers Gully to celebrate 15 years of life after School. Having only been a five year break since our last reunion many thought that there would be very little to catch up on, but it seems that most of us did more in the past 5 years than we did in the first 10!. Marriages, babies, child care, schools and the fast pace of life were common topics although many of us were still regaled with tales of overseas postings and holidays to exotic locations. Four hours came and went in a blink of an eye with us hardly noticing the time as we reminisced about old times before we all disappeared back into the night. Special thanks to Ann Plush for making the night a great success and we all look forward to the 20 year reunion!
Class of 1998 – 10 Year Reunion
April 19th 2008
The Year of 1998 10 year reunion held on the 19th April was a great success. Over 60 students from the rather small year level attended and apologies were sent from all around the world by those who couldn’t make it. Many described themselves as apprehensive or nervous entering the venue, but the butterflies quickly disappeared. One or Two drinks later it was like 1998 was only yesterday and the room was a buzz with conversation. The event progress well into the night and well beyond the original venue as old friends caught up and reunited, some for the first time since graduation. It was a fantastic feeling to see everyone having such a good time and to catch up with individuals on their personal journeys over the past 10 years.
Class of 1983 – 25 Year Reunion
March 1st 2008
Gathering ExECS for any reunion is no easy task, and 25 years on it just gets harder. Many of us are interstate or overseas, or just plain over committed! Never the less, a dedicated bunch of “83 graduates came together on March 1st for a fun and nostalgic night. Many had never been to a reunion at all, and surprisingly had not changed much, (even though an image of people at 17 is all we have!), and personalities definitely stand the test of time, (if not just a bit mellowed!) It was equally great to see a number of ex staff attend and catch up with their movements and memories. Many of the class of ’83 were not able to attend this function but desperately wanted to catch up, so the pressure is on to have another informal gathering later in the year….
